The Optical Design of CHIME
This optics assignment explained the physical principles behind an astronomical instrument in a clear four-page visual format.
Overview
The project was completed with my classmate Julia Nilton. We chose the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment and used diagrams alongside concise explanations to describe how its unusual cylindrical reflectors, feeds, and signal path enable it to operate as a radio telescope.
